One of the most underrated cuts in BBQ has to be pork tenderloin. That changes today because just like any cut of pork, when you cook it right, it turns out juicy, flavorful every time. Not only that, it’s incredibly versatile and lean, similar to a chicken breast but even juicier when done to perfection. In this recipe, we will show you how to make an incredible herb and garlic butter smoked pork tenderloin that everyone is going to go crazy for. It’s simple, delicious, and can be done any day of the week.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED:
- Pork Tenderloin (usually found in two packs)
- BBQ Rub of your choice
- 1 Stick of Butter
- 6-8 Cloves of Garlic
- 2 Tbsp Chopped Flat Leaf Parsley
- Chili Flakes
- ½ squeeze of Lemon Or Lime
To prepare your pork tenderloin for smoking on the grill, first remove any silver skin as well as any unwanted sections of the pork tenderloin that may burn or fall off. Once your tenderloin has been cleaned up, it’s now time to season your meat. To do this, simply apply a light coating of your favorite BBQ Rub and that’s all.
Once your pork tenderloin has been seasoned with your favorite BBQ rub, place it off to the side while you either light your grill and bring it up to temperature. To set up our grill, we filled up the Slow ‘N Sear Deluxe about ¾ of the way full and got the coals mostly lit. We then closed the lid and locked in our temperatures around 275°F.
With your grill up to temperature, place the seasoned pork tenderloin onto the grill opposite the coals. Next, add in some optional wood onto the coals to provide some extra smoky flavor to your tenderloin. Close the lid and begin cooking until you have reached an internal temperature of 140°F.
Once your smoked pork tenderloin has reached 140°F internal temperature, open the grill and begin to make your herb and garlic butter while your pork tenderloin rests for a bit.
To make the herb and garlic butter sauce, simply place your cast-iron skillet over the coals and then add in your butter, garlic, parsley, lime, and a little bit of your BBQ rub, and then let it simmer for a few minutes to allow all the flavors to fuse together.
When the herb and garlic butter sauce is done, remove it from the heat and then spin the grate so that your pork tenderloins are over the hot coals to give the outside a little bit of a sear. While the tenderloins are over the coals, brush on a little bit of the herb and garlic butter sauce to add that burst of flavor, making sure to continuously flip the pork tenderloins every 30 seconds to get an even sear all the way around.
Once they have been seared, remove them from the heat and let them rest before slicing into them and drizzling on the remaining herb and garlic butter sauce over your delicious pork tenderloin.
