Slow ‘N Sear® Charcoal Basket
Two Zone Cooking for Smaller Grills - Now Stainless Steel
Whether cooking for two or looking for quality grilling and smoking on the go, the Slow ‘N Sear charcoal basket brings the flexibility of two zone cooking perfected to your 18″ or larger grill. It's an excellent introduction to the capabilities of the Slow ‘N Sear® and will give you a taste of the full possibilities the Slow ‘N Sear® offers.
- The Charcoal Basket(TM) holds TWICE as much charcoal as a standard grill basket bringing you:
- Longer duration hassle-free smoking
- Larger and hotter sear zone
- Double wall barrier effectively separates direct heat from the indirect cooking surface just like the Slow ‘N Sear.
- Ventilated Basket bottom keeps small pieces of fuel from falling through the grill grate and makes clean-up after the cook a breeze!
- Does NOT include a water reservoir. If needed, a water pan placed on top of the coals can provide moisture during a cook.
- Made from 430 stainless steel; fits 18″ or larger kettles and 18″/22″ Jumbo Joe® grills. Also fits top and bottom charcoal grates of the Weber Summit® Charcoal Grill.
- May fit other models. Please review the product dimensions in the photo gallery.
- Rib Eye Steaks
Basic. Nothing spectacular
Very similar to the stock Weber grill baskets. I should have assumed these weren’t stainless based on the price. I would have purchased the new 2.0? This will suffice but I was expecting a stainless welded product not a galvanized clip system.
We're sorry to hear that our Charcoal Basket didn't meet your expectations. It holds twice as much charcoal as a standard grill basket so that you can have longer duration hassle-free smoking and a larger & hotter sear zone. Slow&Sear Charcoal Basket
Hello I bought the slow&sear charcoal basket for my weber kettle used it for the first time for some chicken halves and could not believe how perfect the chicken cooked I have control now on how I can cook. It is a awesome product Highly recommend Thank you Guys very pleased.
Great Product (just consider the size)
I've had the original SNS for over a year and I love it. However, now that I've been bit by the grilling/smoking bug, I've found my trips out of town are a bit lacking without some grill time. (Yeah, it's bad, lol.) I picked up a Jumbo Joe to cook when camping and out of town. I've done a few test cooks thus far and holding temperature is easier than my 22" kettle! This really makes an already excellent little cooker into something even better. The lack of a water pan isn't even a big deal since you can just toss one over the coals. I've smoked some pork belly and even did the "Baltimore Pit Beef" recipe with excellent results. The only caveat that I think someone should consider before buying this basket is this: unlike the SNS for bigger grills, this guy takes up about half the total grill, whereas it's more like 1/3 on the 22" kettle. This is a necessary compromise to give the little grill adequate searing space but, for someone like me who tends to do a lot more smoking and "hot and fast cooks", the space is really at a premium, even for something like a whole chicken. You might have to get creative. (This is no knock on the product either, it's the reality of an 18" kettle.) With all of that said, the Jumbo Joe SNS is becoming my go-to cooker even at home when preparing smaller meal due to the ease of use and fuel efficiency. The size is also perfect for things like roasts. (It'd be nice if there was some kind of temporary insert wall that could be added for smoking to isolate the coals to like a 1/4 or 1/3 of the total grill. It's so small that a little fuel goes a long way!)
