This was a gift... I have been wanting one for years but couldn’t make myself pull the trigger. I am extremely impressed with the quality and craftsmanship and it’s easy to tell this isn’t some Chinese junk. I look forward to many, many cooks in the future with this additional tool in my grilling toolbox!
I'm amazed at the heat that comes off of it. This does the work of the two baskets that came with my 26 inch weber. Can't say it's well worth the price but it's built good that's for sure. And stainless steal I am liking this investment but pretty spendy.
I did have problems maintaining a constant temperature but I am sure it was due my inexperience using and maintaining the fire. Time and number of cooks will tell.

Good for maintaining temp on a smoke. Can't get over 300 when indirecting. Weber baskets are much more effective.Sear area is too small. Not worth the money for the XL.
Thank you for your purchase and for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you aren't completely happy with your Slow 'N Sear XL. As far as getting temps over 300, the two key needs for any hot fire are fuel (charcoal/wood) and air. If your fire isn’t getting enough of either of these, you won’t be able to reach higher temperatures. You can easily achieve 400+ F on the indirect side with the right set up. Here are a couple tips: - Start with 1/2 to full chimney of fully lit charcoal, depending on how hot and how long you’re going to cook. Small piles of “starter” coals like what is used for low ‘n slow heat will never get your grill up to temperature. - Open up your vents, and more importantly, make sure they aren’t clogged with ash. - Keep your charcoal dry. If stored outside, or in a very humid environment, it may not burn as well as dry briquets. If you give it a try again and still have issues, feel free to email us directly at email@example.com, and we'll see what else we can do to help get you on the right track. Thanks again!
