Works great in the Jumbo Joe. First cook, a Tri Tip roast. 275 +/- for about an hour with a chunck of oak. Only used 12 Kingsford charcoals for the whole cook, had a few left over. I only wish SnS made a stainless steel hinged grill grate for the Jumbo Joe. I'd buy it in a heart beat. Alas, Weber had the standard plated steel grill grate...so I'll make do with that.
Just as effective as the larger models.
Just like all SNS products excellent quality. The drip pan is a great addition for the Jumbo Joe making everything as advertised a breeze. Bundle is good value and a would highly recommend.
I questioned whether the mini bundle would work in my Weber 18” Smokey Mountain Smoker. Yes it does (see pic). I love the fact that I can now expand the use of my smoker into a charcoal grill with searing capability. I’m still perfecting the searing process, but well on my way. One consideration for using in the smoker is that setting the basket on the middle grate in the smoker is a little too low for optimum searing of meat on the top grate of the smoker, in my opinion. There seems to be a could adjustment I can make....just deciding what is the best option.
