So far so good!
This is a fantastic product if you own a kettle grill. Works seamlessly if you follow the instructions, I have cooked a Boston butt and an 8 pound ribeye roast, simply crazy how this product does exactly it promises to do. Very happy with the product.
My expectations were high and I was not disappointed.
The slow n seer is amazing! I can cook and smoke on my Weber Kettle in many different ways now. The construction of this product is amazing, extremely high quality! I am very happy with this purchase!
A month ago I first learned about the slow n sear and it seemed quite expensive for a grill accessory, especially because I already had the charcoal baskets that came with my Weber kettle. After reading lots of reviews raving about the quality of the materials and construction, and seeing how well people’s food was turning out, I decided to give it a shot. So far I’ve seared steaks, cod, tuna, and vegetables, and smoked a pork butt and meatloaf. Everything has turned out great. Compared to the standard baskets, I really appreciate the extra capacity, the convenience and space-saving design of the built-in water reservoir, and the stronger construction. I was able to get about 8 hours on a single load of charcoal with the pork butt, with a few briquettes still burning. With the deluxe bundle, I’m also enjoying the benefits of the drip pan, which not only holds a lot of drippings, but helps control the airflow through the bottom vents into the coals. I haven’t tried using it as a griddle, and I haven’t tried the roasting rack, but I’m sure I will. Both are well made and should hold up to a lot of cooking. If there’s any small suggestion I could offer, the shape and finish on the griddle’s handles could use some adjustments. First they really contour the shape of the kettle, so it’s not that easy to reach in and pick up the griddle without touching the kettle. Not a huge deal, and I’m sure there are times when having the handles out of the way would be helpful, but it’s just something I noticed. The second is that the edges of the handles could stand to be filed ur ground down just a little bit. As is they are a little sharp. Again, not a huge deal, just trying to offer some helpful suggestions for the next version. If anyone reading this is unsure whether it’s “worth the money” I can say for sure that it is.
