The Most Versatile Kamado on the Market

The Slow 'N Sear® Kamado gives you true two zone cooking or traditional one zone cooking - the choice is up to you!

Note - In rare instances, due to the manufacturing process, we receive a Kamado with cosmetic imperfections that have no impact on performance whatsoever. These blemishes will not in any way affect the warranty coverage of your grill. (see photos) We are offering them to you at a lower price!

Today’s kamado-style grills, based on a centuries-old design, are well known for their thick, insulated walls and excellent heat retention. Typically, coals are placed in the lower portion of the cooker and food is placed on an upper cooking grate creating a one-zone cooking environment. Temperature is uniform throughout the grill’s cooking surface whether cooking low ‘n slow or at temperatures 700°+ F for searing.

The Slow ‘N Sear® Kamado Grill has all of the sought-after characteristics of a high quality kamado cooker and then delivers MORE. When utilizing the patented Slow ‘N Sear® inside the cooking chamber, this kamado enables a true two-zone cooking environment that provides smoking and searing zones better than any other kamado on the market, yet retains all of the baking/roasting versatility you've come to expect from a kamado style cooker.

    Loving My Kamado

I've been a Weber Kettle Head for years and a fan of the SnS since it came out, having bought an original after Amazing Ribs first review of it. I've owned a couple of Kamado style cookers over the last 30 years, first an old Imperial clay Kamado I bought used that finally fell apart and an Akorn that rusted out in the bottom. I'd wanted to get back into the Kamado game for a while, and contemplated a Weber Charcoal Summit, but just never pulled the trigger. I was intrigued by what I read and saw of the SnS Deluxe Kamado which, from a performance and package perspective, seemed like one of the best values of any Kamado on the market. The fact that it was a 22" and would accommodate most of the accessories for the Kettle I already owned was a big plus as well. So, I ordered one of the "factory seconds" (hey, I'm a sucker for saying $100) as well as the Kick Ash bundle. Mine has a couple of almost unnoticeable "chips" in the paint on the front - in fact, I didn't notice them until I really started studying the shell. Delivery went fine, though it was raining the morning it was delivered and I don't have a paved path to my back patio, so getting the pallet truck through the yard was "fun". The hardest part was getting someone to help lift the shell onto the cradle. My daughter had a baby the same day the Kamado was delivered (was supposed to be a few days later - the baby, that is) - so I didn't have the use of my Son-in-Law as soon as I hoped and it sat on the back porch for five or six days before getting set up. Since then I've done four cooks on it. First was a couple of split chicken ******* with the traditional Kamado setup since I had still hot coals in the bottom from an initial test burn. After that I've done two racks of baby back ribs, a Cuban style pork butt, and a high heat steak sear, all using the SnS. Turboslow really works well, but does use more coals and the rib cook taught me a lot about how the SNSK reacts to bottom vent adjustments in that mode (opening the bottom vent will initially cause grate temp to drop as the additional air flow on the "cool" side cools it off a bit, this caused me to overract at first until I picked up on the pattern). When I did the pork butt, I pretty much had it down and once I reached my desired temp of 250 it held steady except when I opened the lid to spritz. Needless to say I'm more than pleased with the SNSK so far. Paid far less than I would have for a KJ or BGE and, in my opinion, got a far more versatile set up "out of the box". SnS Grills may still be a relative newcomer to the game, but they offer well thought out and executed products at very reasonable prices.

    I recommend this product

I received my Factory-Second Kamado ahead of schedule (no long wait times!). I have inspected this thing from top to bottom, and I personally find it to be in tip-top cosmetic shape. In no way will the cosmetic issue (for me, an imperfection in the glaze) change the way it cooks. This thing is a beast! So far I've done pulled pork and brisket low and slow, as well as pizza super hot. Then a mix of the two for reverse seared ribeyes and pork. It performs really well! I expected to use it in traditional Kamado mode frequently, but so far I've done that only once as a learning exercise. The SnS makes refueling super easy, and once dialed in the temperature is rock solid. I have used SnS products for a long time. I stick around because they work so well, but also because the customer service is some of the best I've ever interacted with. If you're on the fence, just go ahead and pull the trigger. You won't be disappointed!
